Magazine Analysis

I decided to find magazine posters of the stars and albums I wrote about for my CD cover. This obviously helps me look in even more detail about the magazine poster knowing that I understand how the album cover is presented and what similarities they both possess.
The first one is Joshua Radin's simple times:

As you can see, the image is the same as the CD and so the puplic can make a clear connection to them both - especially when the image of the star is the first things your eye is drawn to.

The black writing is the same, along with the colour (black) which becomes striking and bold. The only thing different about the writing on the poster is that there is more! This is evident because it is promoting the album. The writing is underneath the stars name and album name as this is something which people just need to understand that the album is out, especially fans! The writing is also smaller allowing more emphasis on the image. This is a technique which is used all of the time.

The composition is interesting as the image is juxtaposed with the writing. However, the image has slightly more prominence as it's bigger than the writing; out-weighing it! This backs me up in saying that it is important for the image to be the most detailed and allowing that to be the first thing the audience look at.
